A classic question we often encounter is, "Which is the best month to visit Switzerland?" Today, I have a great opportunity to compile photos from different seasons in Switzerland to give you an idea. By looking at these pictures, you'll get a true sense of what it means to visit Switzerland in any season.
Autumn

ð Autumn
If translated literally, it means "the season of falling leaves," but this term doesn't capture the true beauty and vibrant colors of the season. Therefore, we call it "the season of changing leaves." From September to November, the leaves begin to turn golden yellow and reddish-orange. During the day, the temperature ranges from about 8 to 15 degrees Celsius. If you love the colorful autumn leaves, this is the perfect time to visit.
However, travelers should be prepared for unpredictable weather as it transitions from summer to winter, which often brings light rain. It's essential to have a lightweight, packable raincoat that you can easily put on when needed and remove for photos. Layering is key, as it allows you to adjust to the changing temperatures by adding or removing layers. You wouldn't want to wear a raincoat in every photo. For extra warmth, you can wear thin long johns.

âïļWinter
Winter lasts from December to February, with temperatures ranging from -1 to 5 degrees Celsius. It can get extremely cold, and snow is abundant. However, if you choose a clear day, the photos you take can be stunning. Imagine the soft sunlight reflecting off thick layers of snow on a stone bench in a park, or the snow-covered rooftops of houses. Picture thick snow covering Christmas pine trees, with beautiful sunlight and a clear blue sky, or the iconic Matterhorn peak covered in snow, with the Gornergrat railway passing by perfectly framed in your shotâOMG!

Spring
ðSpring
Spring (āļĪāļāļđāđāļāđāļĄāđāļāļĨāļī) lasts from March to May, and while it can still be quite cold, the temperatures range from 6-13 degrees Celsius. Personally, this is my favorite season. The weather is perfect for walking, with clear skies and bright sunshine. The newly sprouted leaves after winter come in various colors, depending on the type of tree. Some are light yellow, some light green, and some even a soft orange. Importantly, we start to see some flowers blooming, adding vibrant colors to our scenery. Cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and almond blossoms all bloom during this time (isn't that amazing?).
The principle of layering clothes is still essential because the weather in this country can be very unpredictable. Wearing just one layer might feel sufficient when you leave the house, but as it gets later and the sun sets, the temperature drops, and you might find yourself shivering, which could ruin your enjoyment. Nights can get even colder, so be prepared. I must say, you absolutely cannot miss Spring!

ðļSummer
Summer in Switzerland lasts from June to August. The average temperature ranges from 18-28 degrees Celsius, which is ideal for Thai travelers as the weather is comfortably cool. The most notable feature of summer is the long daylight hours. You might feel like you haven't had enough of the day by the time it's 9 PM because the sun is still shining.
Even in summer, some high peaks still have snow that lasts year-round. Importantly, summer flowers bloom everywhere, even more than in spring. While plum and cherry blossoms fade away by the end of spring, they are replaced by vibrant summer flowers blooming in full fields. The greenery is lush, and birds chirp happily. For flower lovers, summer is the season you can't miss.
Moreover, waterfalls are at their fullest during this time, with melting snow feeding into lakes, creating stunning green hues. Summer is truly the high season, packed with beauty and activities you must not miss.
Sunrise: Around 05:43 - 06:35
Sunset: Around 20:45 - 21:30
In August, some days can be as hot as in Thailand, making for beautiful photos with long daylight hours, perfect for extended sightseeing and adventures.
